Comment: Based on some of the names, I would say we cling to the same tree. Samuel Huff had a son Samuel Jr who came to southern Illinois in 1818 along with several family members. Some continued on to Texas. My branch stayed in Marion County, Illinois. I understand that John Henry Huff from Ben Wheeler, Texas had the ancestry traced back to coming from Germany, but I see you have his name and yet have accepted Paulus Dirckse, Netherlands

Comment: My g-g-grandmother was Eva Huff, according to family stories she was born 19 Nov 1866 on the Atlantic Ocean (while crossing). Her fathers name was Oscar and I have no name for her mother who died shortly after her birth. She may have been raised by other relatives. Eva died 27 Mar 1942 in Cheboygan, MI, but her father was supposed to have come from the Chicago, IL area.

Comment: One of my ancestors on the side of the Huff family, about which I know almost nothing, was named Charles W. Huff (C.W. Huff). His tombstone at Agra, Kansas, Cedar Cemetery, says he was born in 1853 and died in 1906. He would have been my maternal great grandmother's father. He died 30 plus years before I was born. My grandmother moved with her family from Ohio to Kansas in the late 1800's or early 1900's. Could we be connected?

Comment: My fathers name was Charles Clifford Huff in died around 1966. He had three children from his first marriage, Betty, LA, and Carl. I am from his second marriage to Laura Beatrice Driskell. I do not have any information about the family, but I am interested.
