Comment: I am also a direct descendant of the Marchant family! Thank you for providing such wonderful information. My tree begins when Mary Marchant marries David Lewis - their daughter Mary Lewis marries Miram (Hiram) Lewis, and one son they have is my great-great grandfather, FIELDING BALDWIN. He goes on to marry Priscilla Estep ca. 1830, and settle in Logan County, WV. My gr grandfather is his youngest son, William Baldwin, who marries Caroline C. Jeffrey...and the rest is history.

Comment: I am descended through Abishai Marchant, John, Cornelius, Peter, and Betsy who married Charles McLain in Farmington, ME in 1814. NIce to see such beautifully do***ented research on line.

Comment: Laura, wow. You have done some work here. I am very new to this ancestry search. However, I am trying to find the connection between the Timothy(ee) family who were business partners with Ben Franklin in publishing the South Carolina Gazette in Charleston. The Timothy's daughter married a Marchant who was suppose to have been a sea captain running cargo from the islands to the ports of America. Any ideas?
