Comment: My ancestors came to America in the 1850's. Settling in Wisconsin and continuing the family tradition of brewing beer,..ie."RAHRS BEER". I believe they traveled from Prussia which is now part of Germany. I am seeking information to the location of RAHRS beer which is brewed in Germany.

Comment: Hi, I suppose we are related. I have three children Alexander, Imogen and Susannah. My father was Gilbert Bernard Rahr a farmer in Kent. I am the youngest of his five children - Victoria, Jane Lena Christopher and myself.
My cousin Peter Rahr lives in Wellington new Zealand, he has two children Alexander and Sophie - I think.
I suppose we are all related.

Comment: I am researching William Bond, coachmaker of Dublin, so a search in Google got me to your site with the reference to WB coachmaker of Exetor. I belong to the Mariners site and someone recently put up a query on a WB, mariner in the 1700's, I will forward the email to you. If you have come across any information on my WB I would be most grateful. Thanks, Christine Walsh - Melbourne, Australia

Comment: Liked the site. There is an error on the Bramley connection site (I am Peter Bramley Towl) and I think the info got muddled when transcribed. I married Anice Molcher (not Yvonne Broom) in Blackawton on 21 Apr 1973. Anice was born 8 Dec1951. Our two sons are Mark Bramley Towl b 29 Sep 1974 and Simon Bramley Towl b 18 Nov 1977.
My brother Daniel John Towl married Yvonne Broom. The info on their sons is correct

Comment: My Grt-Grandfather changed his name from Buggins to Burgoyne about 1864, and have found two others that did the same, one about 1920 and the other about 1940 while in the army but changed back when he was demobbed. Also found a change from Burgess to Buggins !.

Comment: If the name Rahr had only a Scandenavian origin, the written style would be Raar.My family in Germany begins in l566 - before that spelled Raer. I have records of Rahr families in Poland, Denmark, Sweden. Revel, Oesel, Russia, Pomerania. If the name had only Scandinavian roots it would be spelled Raar. During the 30yr. war a number of Germans served under Sweden so therefore the name could have entered the Baltic regions at that time. Sincerely, Petrea
