Comment: Glad to see this site on the web. My father was in the 2nd Cml Mortar Bn; I have been researching its history and am writing a book on it. You may have seen my article in WWII Magazine (Feb 1999) that described how the mortar came into use and earned its spurs in Sicily.

Comment: It has been a long time. I served with "C" company--Rheinland and Central Europe. Verviers to Bishoftinitz to Lucky Strike. Incidentally, I illustrated the Unit History and designed the patch. I am not sure how that happened.

Comment: I just found this today! Over the last year, I've had the pleasure of speaking with my father about his WWII experiences. He was with the medical detachment of the 86th. I can't wait to tell him about the reunion. His name is Dr. Bernard Krask. Thanks.

Comment: I was a member of Company C, 86th Cml Mortar Bn from activation until release from active duty in Nov 1945. A great outfit. We were awarded 5 battle stars and Company C was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the Belgian Fourreguerre.
