Comment: You have a lot of information about the Maseks that came from the Prague, but have you looked into the decendants of the Maseks from the Ukraine and other parts of Russia? They came to Canada to escape the Russian Revolution. NE ways, write back

Comment: Thanks to your website I have discovered description of our family Coat of Arm. Can You please tell me where from your information about Anton Masek is coming from. I would be most grateful for any kind of information about my family.

Yeah! I nearly forgot put my comment on your website, or I did not???
So, as seen above. Your website is very, very useful for all Maseks, Maschecks von Maasburg, Mascheks, or Maasburgs and sets the high standard for the rest.

Comment: Hi,
Not all Maseks are living in USA. Few of us – for example are living in Australia.
I’m ancestor of Anton Masek from Bohemia you are talking about in name history. His original name was Anton Maschek von Maasburg – postmaster in Perschling (Austria), who came to Tyn nad Vltavou – Bohemia (Czech Rep.) in 1822. His family was known as Knights from Maasburg, and they are buried in local cemetery – Including my grandfather Emanuel Masek.
Thanks to your website I have discovered descri

Comment: We may be related..... my grandfather was a Jaroslav Masek.... his father Frantisek Kolar Masek was born in Bezdecin, Tabor Province, Bohemia on 2 Dec 1844.... and he died with relatives in Cleveland on 24 January 1923. His father was Josef Masek. Siblings of Josef were Vaclav, Anton, and Matej. Family oral history tells that Frantisek had several cousins in Cleveland. If related, I have the family line traced back to early 1600's in Bohemia. Great job on your web site! Regards!

Comment: Interesting. You've piqued my interest in our family name. I have been told that my branch of the Masek's came from Czechoslovakia in about 1860. They had 11 children, the oldest named Joe and the youngest, George who was my grandfather. We have found relatives living in Plzen.

Comment: As a history major I'm extremely interested in my own past and that of any type of relations. Only recently have I begun seeking out information on the origins of the Masek heritage and that of the Czech people. Prior research focused on the Antebellum South. It's interesting to see photos and read stories about someone with a thread common to mine. I was in Prague in Sept. 2000 and didn't have nearly enough time to investigate. Whatever information you might have please feel free to contact me.

Comment: Hi,

Hurray for Rich putting this website together! I am SO impressed.

I'm hoping to find some contacts in Cleveland, Ohio, so that we can trace back Thomas Masek and Barbara Houska Masek's roots in the Czech Republic. Thomas had two sisters in Cleveland and I imagine Barbara has some siblings too. Does anyone know their names?

Sharon
