I cannot fully answer your question in this short space, but when Jesus told the non-Jewish lady that his primary ministry was to Jews (who had been prepared for a divine revelation), her sincere faith (expressed in her acceptance of his words and in her persistence) was rewarded.

Comment: I checked up the Bible related to the cleanliness of all foods. In this connection, I read the following verses, 24-30. Jesus told the woman not to take the childrenfs bread and throw it to the dog. The woman refused, but because of her answer, her wish was fulfilled. That was an enigma for me. I think for a while to solve the enigma. Do you know the answer? If there was no answer, I donft mind because meditation itself always makes me happy.

Comment: Yasuo: Thanks for the letter. You made an interesting point. I did not realize that the British and American use of "homely" was different but my dictionary also notes that "originally", "homely" meant "of the home, domestic, familiar, intimate, fond of home, characteristic of or suitable for home or home life; unpretentious, plain". Later, it came to mean "not good-looking", not attractive, plain, ugly". So the word is ambiguous. Thanks for pointing that out.

Comment: In the worst case, I might tell a western woman that she is very homely. I looked up my dictionary and found an interesting fact that the meaning of ghomelyh is different between Britain and America. In British English that means gsimple and ordinary in a way that makes you feel comfortable, whereas In American English that means gpeople or faces that are homely are unattractive or ugly.h

Comment: I am enjoying your Timely Word. I would like to make a comment about the word ghomely.h There is a Japanese word, gkatei-tekih. This word is made from a noun for ghomeh and used to praise a woman who is domesticated, conservative and sweet.
