Comment: Hi, just wanted to say hello form the USA. Sorry to hear you are having the same type of problems we are. I think it is everywhere. Not all are like that though. Just a few in the States. Thats a good thing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Stuart KB8VIY

Comment: Hi Maria, I hear you with regard to your comments. In the USA we currently have three levels of license: Technician, General, and Extra (highest). In the old system, there was the Advanced license between General and Extra and Tech Plus between Tech and General. It used to be you had to pass a 20 wpm code for Extra, now it's 5 wmp. I am one of those 5 wmp Extras and believe me, a lot of the 20 wpm Extras who look down their noses at me! It is really too bad...
Cheers and 73!

Comment: A SWL here ! Nice single page web site, and very good comment, there should be more respect within the ranks of amateur Radio, from the top downwards, too much of the old school thinking they are superior beings.. we are all human, its a great hobby for young and old, everyone should help each other, not fight each other on air! some people in the hobby should take a step back and"LISTEN"to themselfs and others, and try to be better (helpfull) operators.I'll be in touch when i join the ranks

Comment: Hi Maria,
Nice web site. It's sad to read your comments about the way newcomers to the hobby are treated. Sad, but true. I don't know why the oldtimers have this attitude. Fortunately, I think it's only a few. Enjoy the hobby, it's great.

Comment: Hi Maria,

Nice website - valid comments. Greetings to John and everyone. I'm always dragged along to the car booty on Sundays at the end of your road but never think of escaping and hammering on the front door.
See you soon and 73.

Comment: Just another M1 CBer here :-) Agree with you about what happens on the repeaters. You're in the Potteries area, aren't you? Last time I was there I was listening to exactly what you mention on the VT repeater, this was about 4 years ago.

Comment: Hi Maria,

Well Done! I have been into ham radio since about age 10, qualifying as a GM1 at age 14 (that was the min age then - no novice course then either) and got my MM0 two years ago after forcing myself to learn morse.

What a great hobby, shame about some of the people and attitudes though! Don't get discouraged by the "old School" after all they won't be around too much longer!
