Comment: What a gr8 site! I used to live in Southend when I was very small in Woodlands Close backing onto Belfairs. I was originally born as Jason Green in 1970. My great grandfather James Green married a Florence Osborne and I have always wondered if I am related to the Osborne ***le Merchants in Leigh-on-Sea. He got married in 1913 so if anyone knows anything I would be very gr8ful.

Comment: Hi there - thanks for a fascinating website. I've requested that Old Leigh be added to our database at the trivago travel community and have meanwhile added attractions such as the Sailing Club at Southend-on-Sea. I appreciate all the info you've provided about local sights - super! Once the proper region has been created at trivago I will also place a link to your website in the knowledge that our visitors would find it just as useful as I.
Greetings from Cape Town,
Pierre

Comment: Outstanding web-site - nostalgic. My family is from Leigh and my father, Bill Johnson, was raised in one of the cottages next to the Peterboat. My mother, Rene Johnson, and brother, Ian Johnson, were/are very active with 3rd CB Sea Scouts. Me too, way back - I can remember when the "Den" was located in the old train station across from the sailing club. Also used to work in the Smack before it got remodeled. Now live in Oregon - miss Leigh and the pubs, especially the Billet!

Comment: This is a gr8 site! My Grandmother was Florence Osborne who married James Green in 1913. I do not know whether she was related to the Osborne fishermen. I would appreciate any info please. Thank you.
