Comment: Hi,have spoken to Ethel Taylor in the past, my father came to Zimbabwe in about 1940 as a trainee pilot for the RAF, and stayed after the War. He was John Charles Waddelow, died May 1996. Son of William Waddelow of Hampton Court, London,UK.
I am in the USA at momentselling safaris for the 2002 & 2003 season in Tanzania,& end of year in Zimbabwe.

Comment: My surname has its origins from Waddelow.
Most of my familly come from Wisbech Cambridgeshire, which is not far from March and Ely, so there is a strong possibility with the familly trees from these areas.
I would welcome any interest from the Society to update / extend family trees in this area.
My uncle being the local church warden has an interest and access to Parish Records so could provide valuable assistance in historical records.

Comment: The Waddells of england are of belgium orgin from odells of bedford the odells are flemish from count walter de flandrsis who came over with duke william of normandy in 1066 ad THE Odells descend from count Baldwin of flanders the 4th They were known as chidren of baldwin thats the only norman history I can find in 1066.a.d on waddell surname like odle in normandy who is the waddells of scotland norman descent ancestor from hasting in england in 1066.a.d

Comment: Is the waddells of scotland related to the waddelows they say waddel is a norman surname from adam de wedale of midlothian he came over from holding lands in england in domesday book records but I can not really find the real norman family surname before the waddel namesake the resceachers think there vitalis of devon shire

I have copy of large family tree which we recieved from a gentlemen from Kent some years ago.
Our family came from Peterborough, and had some interest in a brickworks at Whitlsey.
We also have links to the Jeffery family who were in the brewery trade during the 1800s
We have a family disability, which was only labeled as CAPD 2 years ago when my eldest son was diagnosed. Hence my web site.

Comment: My sister married a Leroy Waddelow in Illinois, USA. He was born 8-27-1909 in Fayette Co. IL. The name is very hard to find as I spelled it. I see that there are many variations of The spelling of Waddelow. I just started this journey for my nieces; it appears that they are having a hard time finding a family connection. I just finished my Family Trees and I thought that this would prove very interesting. Could you help point me in the direction I need to go? Thanks for your site and thanks
