Comment: What an excellent web site...I lived at 7 Walnut Tree Rd and then 29 Danefield rd from 1945 until I left the village to join the Army in 1960. Great to see a lot of names I recognise.I was at school with Rex Mason, Peter"Poppet" Lake,Pete"Woody"Woods,Roger Clark,David Saunders,Dougie Lake,,been back a few times ,great nostalgia..still alovely place,one day I would love to meet up with any of those that remember me.

Comment: I truly enjoyed visiting your website, especially the article on Hambridge Way since I lived there from 1942-1967. I recognize many names from the guestbook, including Brian & Martin Cloke & Tony Moygannon. Sally Lake still sends me the Parish magazine monthly - I love keeping up with the latest village news. Comment: Like many others, I am researching my family background. My Grandfather, Frederick Dawson, had his roots in Pirton. His Grandfather, Thomas Dawson was an agricultural labourer and lived at Great Green, Pirton. He was born in 1805 and had a wife, Sarah and children Ann, George, Mary, Samuel, Sophia and William. Is anyone else researching this family?

Comment: I appreciate the work that has gone into this website. As a former resident of St Mary's Close my sons James and Nick Martell like to remember the happy times we had in the village, before moving to America. I still miss the tranquility and the beautiful countryside.

Comment: Hello everyone, I am Nicole Lake and I live in the south of Hertfodshire. My 6+great grandparents, William and Abigail Lake lived in Pirton. William was a farmer and Abigail kept "The White Horse Inn". Just today I visited Pirton and for the first time I saw the grave of William and Abigail as well as a few other Lake's in the churchyard. So please if anyone knows anymore about these thing's I have mentioned please reply, I will continue to check the guest book.
