Comment: Hi, my grans grandforther was one of the men who help to buid the thetis. He was invited to go on the Thetis, but he did not go on because? My gran was only small at the time and she says it was a great loss of the Thetis and its crew. 5:00

Comment: I wish my father, Quintin Blane, might have lived a few more months to share the modest yet precious honour paid to the memory of his cherished brother Tom Toner Blane, who perished in HMS Thunderbolt, by the existence of this website

Comment: Thank you for remembering the lads who perished on the boat named Thetis and Thunderbolt. Sadly my brother's name, Leading Telegraphist T.T. Blane of H.M.Sub. Thunderbolt, was not recorded. He was always one of the figures on the conning tower as she arrived or departed her moorage...as was the proper duty station of the Leading Telegraphist during these manouvres.
Respectfully, George Blane. Sardis B.C. Canada.

Comment: Nice site. I've read a couple of books about 'Thetis' and I'm still intrigued by the story (especially the fact that a 245 ft long sub was lost in only 170 ft deep water - with its stern sticking out!). I was born (and still reside) in Merseyside, which is relevant as well - my mum remembers talk of the 'wait' at the dockside by concerned relatives.

One suggestion. You host the site on Angelfire, and as wel
