Comment: Attended CDS in the 70's - cabin 11 both years. My brother, Bill, also went to CDS. We got to talking about CDS over Thanksgiving dinner - wondered if there'd be anything online. About 8 years ago my wife and I were in MI - went to Barnharts. What a blast from the past. CDS was still there - the piers were in the water. Remember "Surprise Day / Counselors Revenge", the Ships Wheel, and the skits with Dr. Fun & Professor.

Comment: I spent weekends there with the Winnetka Yacht Club in the mid-70s and attended as a camper in 1979 (Hilltop) and 1980 (cabin 4). Dropped by the place in summer 1989 - what a kick to visit again!

I still sing "We're the CDS cuties" Loved CDS. Surprise Day was the best. I was a camper for 2 years ~1980. Went to family camp too.

Comment: Our family went to family camp a couple summers around 1970. Two of us went to CDS regular sessions. I remember the trips to Barnhart's, the screen doors on the cabins, the ship's wheel, the .22 rifles, and the big dining room.

Comment: I loved the summer I spent at CDS and now it's time to send my own children to camp. Is it still a Winnetka camp? I went the summer of 75. Seems like yesterday. I still sing the songs I learned and I teach them to my Girl Scouts.

Comment: I went to CDS for several summers between 1979 to 1984ish. I remember suprise day, singing at meals, the totally freaky haunted house, and the store where we could buy jolly ranchers. Hope one day to send my own daughter to CDS.

Comment: I taught water skiing at the camp for three years starting in 1976. My name "Howie" is in a couple of panels in the stage curtain in the lodge.
I also reshingled most of the roofs with John Mo the caretaker.
