Comment: I've enjoyed visiting the USS Idaho website. My father (Charles Radford) served on the USS Idaho from Dec 1942 through Dec 1944. I found his name and picture in the group photograph of Fox Division in Photo Album 3. It made my day. Thanks!

Comment: I Don't believe that we can't find a home for this magnifisant Ship. San Fransisco is realy the worst place for military people, and the remnance of history. This once greate city opened there arms to the military now doesn't want anything to do with it. So many ships went threw the Golden Gate bridge now it very raily see's any. Maybe on the 4th of july. The USS HORNET is even in trouble some times and falls under atack. We need these to remind us of our history

Comment: Thank you for your service, and fine web site in honor of the Ship and it's crew. My father Hudson M. Russell serve aboard the Idaho from 1934 to 1938...He is still with us today at 91 years of age. His training while aboard Her was in no small part what kept him and the gun crews he trained and led safe through out WWII. While he served on 3 other ships during the war , I can tell you his heart was never far removed from the Idaho. Her picture hangs in his room today. Thank You!

Comment: Hi Dave. I 'm on the Idaho site in memory of my father, Luther H. Parris, Jr., who passed away this past September, Dad was on the Idaho from 1942 to '45.
The site is wonderful, and I think it 'll come to mean a lot to an ever-increasing number of folks. I plan to visit more often; I feel a connection to my father when I do, and I 'm willing to bet I 'm not the only one experiencing that particular phenomenon.
Thanks for your dedication to an important and worthwhile

Comment: My dad, ENDC Willis W. Willingham, served on this ship. He may have been a machinist mate at the time. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who remembers him or has information on his service while on board.

Comment: Welcome to the website of the USS Idaho. The crew of the USS Idaho were a bunch of proud men having served in 13 major battle campaigns during WWII. Since I have put this site together 2 years ago, I have had the honor and pleasure of knowing some of the crew and their family members and friends. I am looking to knowing more of you in 2006. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and God Bless you all.
