Comment: only there for a short stay but got exactly what i needed, a kickstart in the right direction for a change of at***ude for a more active/healthy living. Mel enthusiasm is amazing and the amount of one on one time he is determined to give is brilliant even when he has multiple clients. I suppose the best recommendation i can give is that i hope to go back in july for a longer stay.

Comment: This was my second holiday with Rio Frio.
Once again we got to hike and cycle through some of Andalucia's most scenic spots. Mel provides local guides so that both faster and slower hikers and cyclists can participate at the same time.
Finally as a personal trainer, Mel took me through dozens of exercises, explained how to do them properly, and helped me and other members choose and adjust our program.
I lost weight & body fat and added muscle mass. I can't recommend Rio Frio enough.

Comment: My time on the Rio Frio course was a truly invaluable experience. Mel's expertise in both nutrition and fitness is impressive. He helped me train for a 7000m peak expedition which I made. He also put me on the right path to achieving sustained weight loss without unhealthy crash diets and significantly improving my overall health and fitness. I highly recommend the course to anyone seriously committed to getting into shape.

Comment: My wife and I are at different levels of fitness but we both got loads out of our weekend. We had a good mix of running, exercise, stretching, general fitness work and overall well being. We really enjoyed the fantactic location. I have changed both diet and exercise regime since getting home.

Comment: I was not really sure what to expect from my holiday with Mel but I need not have worried. He looked after me well and nursed me through the "scarey bits". He is very patient with the novice so do not let the lack of experience stop you from booking.
Thanks Mel for a great week. My confidence was really boosted, and I learnt a lot. My PT noticed a difference both mentally and physically on my return.

Comment: Thanks Marie and Mel for a great alternative to Christmas turkey and roast potatoes - walking and mountain biking! Learned lots and now intend to put everything into practice and not compete with everyone and try and enjoy my leisure activities!

Comment: 29 years, gaining weight, lost confidence after knee operation, however training with Mel and fantastic food by the hands of Marie.
fantastic training, running, trekking, cycling continuous support.. i feel great, playing football, taken up running 10km's, what more can i say? I'll be going back, anyone thinking should i go? my word of advice "Go for it" Ive gained confidence, lost weight and made brilliant friends

Comment: Years of working behind a desk and living the life of a single hard-drinking, meat & potatoes guy had taken their toll. I needed to change so I came motivated to Mel and Marie's. In two weeks I kick started a fitness program under Mel's guidance. Marie's wonderful cooking showed me how I could eat large and tasty evening meals and still lose weight: serve whole grains, small amounts of meat (not red), lots of vegetables, and don't add any salt.

Comment: After arriving for the second time at Mel & Marie's feeeling stressed and worn out with work, I left re-energised and a fair bit fitter. Yet again the whole week was complimented by M&M's fantastic hospitality (we felt much more like we were visiting good friends). This combined with some stunning bike rides and runs and Mel's knowledge made it the perfect holiday. The 'duathlon' on the final day was excellent! Thanks again.

Comment: I felt welcome from the start. Marie’s cooking was outstanding opening my eyes to new food. I am still enjoying experimenting with new foods all inspired by her fabulous recipes. Mel pushed me with exercise and I couldn’t get enough. He is knowledgeable and safe. I had such fun I stayed an extra week. The variety of sports was what I wanted, and the mountain views from the garden kept me lifting those weights. I can’t recommend this holiday enough I feel good and have a new respect for myself.
