Comment: In response to Ralph Robinson, we can confirm that Rolf Kohler does appear on the credits for the Cottbus DVD.

Can't be certain but I think we saw him there or backstage next day at Chemnitz.

This really is sad news for us all.

Comment: This is for Pam re your query. The only album we can see with both the songs you quoted below is the 1980 USA Box Set DML5-0478 "The World of Roger Whittaker". Just checked this but nothing about the Edmund Fitzgerald. Is there any possibility you could actually be thinking of "The Last Farewell" - by far Roger's most famous song?

Comment: Vicky and Rory, a good friend of mine had it on an LP. Other songs on it were "Puff the Magic Dragon", "I don't Believe in If anymore",I can't remember the names of some of the others, but they are on several of the albums I've seen advertised.I don't know if this will help or not.

Comment: I learned the sad news from reading the German web page that one of Roger's concert guitarist, Rolf Koehler, passed away last month. Koehler can be seen playing the guitar on the "Live in Berlin" DVD released in 2004. I will see if he is also on the new Cottbus DVD when I finally get a chance to see it. It is sad to hear of Mr. Koehler's passing. He was very talented working with Roger Whittaker. Thanks, Roger, for the many years of your great performances with Rolf Koehler.

The Edmond Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior almost 32 years ago (1975-11-10). While there is a song (Gordon Lightfoot) about it we had never heard Roger sing of this tragedy. We have known Roger since before the event and have most everything he's recorded in English. Can you provide any more clues. Did you have an LP or tape or hear it at a concert?

Comment: About 20 years ago a friend of mine had a set of songs by Roger. One of the songs was the most beautiful rendition of "The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" that I have ever heard. I can't locate it anywhere, and would be very, very grateful if someone could help me. Most of the songs I can find on other albums, but this was hauntingly beautiful. This man has a voice like an angel, and memories are made when you listen to him sing.
