Comment: To Roger, I was just 19 years old in the spring of 1975. I kept hearing a song being played on the radio and for awhile thought the ***le was "In Old England". Of course, it was "The Last Farewell". While mostly listening to rock and roll I found myself mesmerized by the recording. Obviously, I wan't alone. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the song came to mean a lot to me and still does. Thanks for the "classic".

Comment: This is for Herman in South Africa. The short answer to your question is "Yes; both MY SILVER EAGLE and (SO FAR) SAFARI have been released on CD". It is unfortunately one of the rarest of all Roger's CDs. The 1988 Intercord CD INT 861.561 "Bitter & Sweet; Songs of Love & Tears" has both tracks. Although in English this CD was only ever released in Germany. Perhaps we can help yo further?

Comment: This is for Neil Bennett in Australia. We believe the song you are referring to is called "San Miguel". First recorded by Roger in 1969 it has appeared on a number of CDs: 1980 Israel - Pickwick PWK 129 1987 West Germany - Philips 830 770-2 1999 E U - Polydor 73145-38777-2 2003 Netherlands - Universal 04400-76112-2 I do not believe any of these are still current although they do appear on auction sites.

Roger's next concerts are in Denmark: FRI September 19: Copenhagen - Albertslund SAT September 20: RINGSTED - Kongrescenter SUN September 21: ESBJERG - Musikhuset MON September 22: AALBORG - Kongres+Kultur Center After that there will be none until the German tour starts in January. We cannot tell which is easiest for you to get to. Last year Renee took a bus from Sweden to Dresden for the cancelled concert there. You could try for

The very first song that I have listened in German is "Albany". It sounds very good and I can a little bit allso German but not so much at all than English.

Comment: As a young boy growing up in London, we always listened to Roger Whittaker in the car and to this day, it still conjures up memories of happy times. Thank you Roger! However, I cannot find any record of a song I used to have of his that is one of my favourites. I think it's called "Manuel", but I'm not sure. The opening lyrics are "Down by the river San Miguel there's a grey house, and it dwells". If anyone can help me track down this classic, I would be most grateful. Many thanks

Comment: You are so right about time going by so quickly.I'm 40 this year and listening to Roger started when I was about 12 and my Dad bought a car with a tape player and the first tape he bought was of Roger.Things havent changed my children get into my Dads car and they are now singing to Roger.It's going to be a family tradition I think.I went to see Roger late 80's in Cardiff and was blown away his voice.It has been an honour and a pleasure to listen to your music.Thank You

Comment: Hey Peter Kirkpatrick! Thanks for the great idea. We did that many times years ago. In fact we dragged our kids thousands of miles following Roger's tours in Canada and the U.S. Now they're adults, 31-39, and still fans of Roger. But here in our little somewhat isolated city in northern Ontario we have little chance to influence the local kids. Our own three and our grandchildren are thousands of miles away in Alberta. But we do try promoting Roger at every opportunity!!!
