Comment: What I love about Jermain Taylor is how he acknowledges his Arkansas roots. He goes above and beyond what most athletes in ANY sport do to give props to the hometown folk who helped get them where they are. Arkansas is an AWESOME state, best in the Union in my opinion(I am from Memphis, but HUGE Hog fan).
Jermain, you box your game against that "Breadbasket of the US" punk, and you win your last fight at 160lbs.
VIVA LA JERMAIN TAYLOR!

Comment: Agree. Taylor is battle tested, where Pavlik has beaten a load of scrubs. Pavlik deserves the shot, but I really can't see him winning this.
Pavlik had an impressive UNDERCARD match, but a MAIN EVENT is a different animal, and Pavlik is a career undercarder in my opinion. Taylor = MAIN EVENT.

Comment: C'mon people Pavlik has fought a bunch of bums. Please don't tell me MIiranda is any good. That guy has no boxing skills at all. He can throw a punch but that's it. JT has been in there with Hopkins, Wright (who JT beat I watched the tape on Friday Night). If you think Pavlik is going to win then you are saying that he's just as good as Wright & Hopkins. You people can't possibly believe that, Y don't you just say u don't like JT instead of ripping his skills?

Comment: I got 2 tickets this morning and am dying to go. I have to talk my bro into driving us up there(for a free ticket) and taking a couple days off work. If I can't get that done, I'll have to StubHub my tix.
I really think Taylor will win this handily, albeit in a decision.

Comment: Not just challenged, but COMPELLED to fight. All but the older fundamentalist boxing die hards will begin to view boxing as "incomplete". Without the ground game and the kickboxing, fans will see something is missing. MMA will continue to develop, and the fighters will become better and even more fierce than we've seen yet. When the money gets right, Pro Boxing will lose it's draw. It's only a matter of time.

Comment: You're absolutely right about the money! To the fans, however, its about entertainment. The fact that the sport(MMA) has grown so wildly may soon lead to purses rivaling pro boxing. When UFC fights begin to pull those kinds of Gs, men with JT's ability will almost certainly be challenged to compete in a "real fight".

Comment: Richard,
Hold on to the farm, don't wager or gamble it away on this one. JT is a "boxer" and win, lose, live, or die, he most certainly "ain't" fighting any "any Pro MMA fighter" for those peanuts. He makes too much in this "b u s i n e s s". The money just "ain't right", right?! LOL

Comment: MMA,
Boxing is a business right? I would hope so, please show me how this would benefit JT with the low purses in comparison to what JT is making now and will continue to make in future bouts. Pretty obvious where the $$$$ (money) is for him. He certainly would be a fool to look elsewhere as I am sure you can understand "why"
