I think Pavlik would KO him and take care of business relatively quickly. He has the combinations, heart, and desire to beat the best. If he beats Taylor in the rematch then I think it is all blue skies ahead until he jumps up to supermiddleweight. He isn't overly hard to figure out, fighting style is straight forward, just brings the heart, desire, and willingness to do whatever it takes. We thought for sure in the 2nd Taylor would finish him off.

Comment: If Pavlik wins this rematch then it is game/career over, something I don't think will happen and JT understands this as well. It is put up or shut up, though he is financially set for life is the end in sight? Time will tell but don't count this man out just yet as I don't think it is. This rematch will be either the end or redemption and Taylor is taking this seriously given what is at stake. Manny isn't fighting for him, he has to listen. Uppercut isn't a hard word to understand.

Comment: Of all the ***le fights I have seen in person this one doesn't rank even in the top 5. Taylor was impressive through two rounds, after that he deteriorated and was gassed after not listening and countering with the uppercut to finish the fight. He and Manny were in agreement post fight. Pavlik won, he deserved it, is champion, and expect this rematch sooner rather than later. If the tables were turned and JT would have finished him off what would be said? food 4 thought.

Comment: Oh, I give him his props. Not for how long he had the belt or better yet who he fought to retain it, but how he fought on the 29th. I thought he did spectacular. Not the JT everyone was used to it.

Comment: All this doom and gloom, ruined career, etc? For Christ sakes he has one loss on his record and will fight on. His career is far from over and this possibly is what is needed as a wake up call. In all honesty he should have finished him when he had the kid hurt badly in the 2nd. He will regroup and be back sooner rather than later. Give the man his props, he held the belts for how long? Just what I thought. It is far from over.

Comment: All indications leading up to this fight was Manny + Jermain would indicate a change up of style, location of camp, etc, would get the job done. If he ended what he should have in the 2nd we would not be talking about this, simple as that. He had a fighter badly hurt and allowed him to stay around which cost him the fight. Not too hard to see this, even Pavvy admitted this in the L.A. Times story you requested which I gave you. He failed to finish a weaker opponent and the loss is deserved.
