Comment: Thank you for sharing family documents, and photos...I believe that the Joseph "Vernon" Smith, s/o Joseph Truman Smith and Lettie Mills Smith, his wife Eunice Polk, d/o Bertam Polk, would be cousined to me. Eunice Polk ties to the William Carter Family.
Would be interested in locating more data on Eunice Polk Smith & family.

Comment: Ruby My father's family is from the Wayne/Greene county area. The two surnames I have are Smith and Best. Several years ago I had the opportunity to detour through Wayne county while headed home to Texas from Florida. I found a little cemetary located (I think) at an intersection of hiway 63 in the community of Clara. There I found my namesake and several Smiths and Bests. My problem is that I have found no living relatives of those two families in the area. Any ideas

Comment: My aunt Bessie Upshaw married a William Samuel "Sambo" Walley. They lived in Greene or Wayne County, MS. She was born in Wayne or Greene County and I think he was from there too. Any relation?
