Comment: Excellent info! I wonder if you can give me some help? My Rifle is dated 1873 on the action near the hammer, but the trapdoor says us model 1874! What do I have? Also, where should I find a serial number? None is obvious.

Comment: I have and shoot a trapdoor at least once a year in a match that is called The Old Soldgers match. we shoot 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yds. Our shoot was the last sunday in August. I toke 3rd in 500, and 600 yds. I tied for second but the count back got me.
