Comment: Very pleased to find this site. I am the director of the Legend Singers Choral Ensemble founded by Kenneth Billups in 1940. We believe we are the oldest continuos performing African-American group with the mission of performing and preserving Black folk music,70 years. Do you know of any group with a longer performing history? Thank you for your response. Doris Jones Wilson

Comment: Dear Dr Moses
I was intrigued by the rugby supporters at Twickenham in England sing "Swing low, swing chariot" in support of the English national rugby team. The porousness of cultures is part of the intrigue. I also sang "Little David" in our school choir as a youngster and still am thankful to our high school music teacher for having exposed us to and making us share in the creative beauty of what is world art.
Kindest regards
Kosie Abrahams

Comment: Dr. Moses,
Thank you, so much for your Website! I am currently teaching an elementary school Music Class and I have introduced the "Negro Spirituals" to the children. Your site will be one of the listening and learning tools for my classroom. Beautifully done!

Comment: Dr. Moses,
Thank you for this beautiful web-site. I enjoyed listening to the negro spirituals and hope that I can some day attend one of your performances. My father, the late Leonard Robinson performed with the wings and is pictured on your web site. I was a very young girl when I last saw my father, so it fills my heart and soul to know that he his face will forever be included in the pages of African American History.
