Comment: I think there's a typo in your Declaration of Independence quote: "inalienable" should be "unalienable." Check it out but I think you'll find that "unalienable" is the correct word, meaning "that cannot be given away or taken away." Tends to be a bit sobering in the sense of "personal responsibility" in that these rights CANNOT BE GIVEN AWAY. Thought I'd mention this. Thanks for a very thought-provoking site.
