Comment: I am the grandaughter of Adam Franklin McLaren whom migrated to the United States in the 1870's. He married Hattie Bell Hayes and they had nine children, the youngest son, Ivan Danial McLaren being my father. I have found this site to be very interesting.

Comment: In a world filled with anxiety in these troublesome times (2010), it was delightful to stop & look to the past.
A few minutes spent looking for info on my relatives, one of whom came to the USA in the 1700's as a teenager - (Andrew Caddell..married Jean Henderson), gave me a wonderful respite today. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
I heard that my relatives in Scotland were gunsmiths. I have not confirmed that but thoroughly enjoyed reading your info on this subject. Than
