Comment: I am a retired Marine Master Sergeant. My wife and I visited the Utah during our latest trip to Hawaii in 1999. We left a lei at the flag and another on the water. We are returning in Dec '04. I asked my wife what she wanted to see this trip. She said "The Utah, because they are so lonely." So we will jump through whatever hoops are needed in order to get our rental car onto the island.

Comment: I am a member of todays United States Coast Guard following my families military path. My extreme patriotism began when i began to realize what all of the military personnel have done for this country before me, my great grandfather included. My great Grandfather was LCDR Charles Otto Michael. He made the ultimate sacrifice for this great country. I am so proud and thankful for him and all of his shipmates alike. Thank you all.

Comment: My father, William (Bill) Pierce Weber served aboard the USS UTAH and was a crew member at the time of attack, Dec 7, 1941. He was an electrician mate at the time and earned the rank of Chief electrician by the time he was discharged on Dec 7, 1949. Another connection to that date was that he passed away on Dec 5, 1966 and was burried on Dec 7, 1966. I believe these dates are fate and most interesting. Dad married Wilma L. Weber also a Chief in the Navy and had two children residing in Seattle.

Comment: A great web site. Thank you for peserving a memory for all of us. As a Vietnam Vet, I feel it's a shame we don't study our History. If we had we might not of had 9/11.

Comment: Wonderful website and thanks for keeping the memory alive for us that did not serve (not born) and that fact those men gave their lives so that we could remain always free. You may not hear us talk about you often, but you are in our memories. God bless your courage.

Comment: I visited Hawaii in support of Operations against terrorism. By chance I had to work off of Pier 12 at Ford Island. I thank God for those who came before me, and gave me the opportunity to serve today.
