Comment: My Grandfather Herbert Blake was on board that fatefull day, but apart from that I don't know much about his experiences because he never really talked about it. I'd love to hear from anyone who might remember him, as he passed away several years ago. I'd just like to understand a little more about such a significant event in his life - more than just dry facts. I'm so glad that you have this site up.

Comment: MY FATHER-IN-LAW, CWO HENRY A. SARWINE WAS ABOARD THE UTAH DEC. 7 1941. HE LATTER WAS ON THE USS. HELENA WHEN IT WAS SUNK IN THE CORAL SEA. HE SPENT OVER 20 YEARS IN THE NAVY. WE BURIED HIM IN 1996, IN ROSE HILLS CEMETARY, WHITTIER CALIF. WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS. HE HAD 3 CHILDREN,8 GRAND CHILDREN, 8 GREAT GRAND CHILDREN. HIS WIFE OF OVER 50 YEARS, IS DOING FINE IN PLACENTIA, CALIF. SHE IS ALMOST 90..
