Comment: While serving in the Navy, I was stationed on Ford Island in the 80s. The fate of the Arizona and Utah served as constant reminders to those of us in the military of what could happen if we let our guard down. Unfortunately, no we also have 9/11 to serve as a reminder of just how dangerous a world we live in.
Cheers and God bless,
Larry Allhands <><

Comment: Sir--
Our Cub Scout (7 year old Tiger Cubs) den has its monthly meeting tonight. How appropriate for an overview of what happened at Pearl Harbor 63 years ago. We will be making thank you cards to survivors and taking them to the Soldiers and Sailors home in Sandusky, Ohio. I will make mention of this website and those who served on the USS Utah. Great men. Great site.
Thank you.

Comment: I am a Viet Nam combat vet who served with the 1st Marine division 1968-1969......words do not do justice to the valor of the men who served aboard this and the many other ships on Dec 7th. I find it particularly strange that today some 63 years after the Japanese sneak attack that we are doing business so closely, so blandly, so seemingly uncaring with our former enemies....... what does this say about us and the world we live in.....

Comment: Made a special effort to visit the memorial one afternoon while my ship was in port in 1994. Prior to new bridge, it was much more involved journey, and one afternoon I headed across on a launch. With all the tourist activity of the Arizona monument, I was especially struck by the quiet, simplicity, and dignity of the Utah's resting place. God bless all who served on her and those that still do. Bob Burkhart ABH1 USN Ret

Comment: I had a chance to visit the USS UTAH during our last port call. It is sad to see so many sailors lost their lives without a chance to defend themselves. I am proud to be a sailor and thank them for thier sacrifice they gave to my country.
