Comment: I was in the 50th EMS from 77-79. AGE Troop. Lots of fond memories. Went back a few years ago and the area isn't the same anymore since the base closed.

Comment: Served in 417th FBS 1956/57.Col. Yeagar was a great CO. Tour at Hahn was good. Toul- Not so good.Four of us would pack up our stuff & travel all over Europe repairing our planes that had most minor/Some major problems. Great duty.

Comment: I WAS STATIONED AT HAHN FROM JAN 60 TO JAN 64. WORKED 50TH SUPPLY SQDN POL .I INJOYED MY TIME AT HAHN.JUST WISH I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW.THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER.

Comment: 496th FIS May 1965-May 1968, Radar shop. I live in Chandler AZ. Many fond memories of Hahn and the people that I lived and worked with. Comment: Stationed HAHN 79-82 with 50th Supply Sq. Also, worked as "Night Manager" at NCO Club for 2 years. Remember "Ray Foster", "Harry Truman", "Randy Rhoads", "Pete Peterson", esp. "Chief Walter B. Weathersby".
Currently friends with HAHN SP Bob Colosimo, stationed HAHN late 80's.

I'm looking for information/pictures or any contact with relatives of 2nd Lt Clair B.Edel 313rd FS , killed in action on 26 August 1944 near Rouen. He was flying P-47 # 225759 when he was shot down by Luftwaffe ace Klaus Mietusch while bombing a bridge at Oissel , Normandy .

I'm looking for information/pictures or any contact with relatives of 2nd Lt Pressley C. Chaplin 313rd FS downed near Rouen on May 25 , 1944. He was flying P-47 # 225907 when hit by flak , and was soon captured after bailing out.

Comment: This is an awesome site. I have only looked at the first decade so far, but this is the best. I was actually stationed at Wueschheim AS when I was in Germany from 1985-1987, but I lived on Hahn AB.
This is military history at it's best.
Thank you for an outstanding tribute to one of America's proud fighter wings.
Hahn AB, along with so many other U.S. Military installations, is gone, but will never be forgotten.
