Comment: What a very good and interesting site this is I have found it excellent . I think my GGgrandparents William McLean and Elizabeth McLean [Mcturk]duaughter Janet Mclean was buried here between 1834-1841 can you advise me on where to look for this burial .My Mclean family were living in Main Street Gorbals in the 1841 Census .I am also interested in finding out why were there so many deaths in Glasgow 1851 could this be the reason my family moved away .

Comment: I am trying to locate my grandfathers grave and any other family graves.His name was Patrick James Boyle born in 1908 Glasgow and died aged 38 at 10 1/2 Eglinton Lane Gorbals in 1946.His parents were Francis Boyle and Rose Boyle nee Montford.Please can anyone help?

Comment: Elizabeth PYE Lair 8662 Western Section.
Died 16-4-1863. Wife of James PYE and daur of David M'CLEISH and Isabella WATT.
Also in the cemetery is some of James and Elizabeth children.
A great find.

Comment: We visited the Southern Necropolis in June looking for three unmarked graves - no luck in actually finding the lairs but have been given very helpful information about finding them at a future visit. Cemetery was lovely in the sunshine - well kept and obviously being enjoyed by other visitors sitting on benches and walking through.
