I am looking for information on my 6xg grand-father Aquila/Akesna/Archelaus Horlore [in Frome/Kilmersdon 1670s-1720s, married twice, to Ester X c1695 and Susanna Whiddington 1723. 2 children, Elinore 1697, Thomas 1700.Have you come across him and/or Ester. There is a Hercules Horler 1620s - any connection??

Comment: My Grandmother Norah Body(1902-1989),married a Norman Horler (1897-?) in 1919 in Bristol. They immigrated to Canada in 1920, but separated. Body family lived in Wrington, Somerset, England. Any info on Norman Horler? Thanks Linda Stearns

Comment: hi, how lovely to see such an informative site about our name. i was looking for my family tree, if you could help i would be very greatfull. my part of the family live in stoke-on-trent, there are not many of us here, i believe my grandad Albert and nan iris came to live in stoke from south wales to find work in the pits. if there is any more i could tell you that would help dont hesitate. thanks and i look forward to hearing from you.

Comment: An addition to my previous post. If anyone is recording the Horler family tree, Mercy died in Tasmania in 1966. She married Thomas Summers in Burnie 1896 and had at least 7 children - Viola (Vala on birth records), Walter Horace (known as Horrie), Pearl, Gordon, Victor, Sidney, Jean). There are hundreds of descendents currently living in Tasmania. Her brother Jack lived to over a 100 and also had children. There are other siblings listed in the 1881 census, but I don't know what happened to the

Comment: Hi - I notice we have some ancestors in common. My great grandmother was Mercy Horler born Kilmersdon in 1876. She moved to Tasmania in 1886 with her parents Sydney James Horler & Sarah Wilcox. Sidney's father was Elisha Horler, son of John, son of John, son of Abraham, husband of Martha Maggs. I would love to know if anyone has details of Abraham & Martha's families
